Bali United Sign Former Bundesliga Midfielder Mirza Mustafic Ahead of New Season

Bali United have officially added Mirza Mustafic, a former Bundesliga player, to their squad in preparation for the 2025-26 Indonesian Super League season. The 27-year-old attacking midfielder joins on a one-year deal, bringing with him valuable experience from European football. The club sees him as a strategic addition to strengthen their midfield as they aim for a successful campaign.
Mirza most recently played for FK Sarajevo in the top division of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he contributed six goals and four assists during his time with the club. Last season, he helped Sarajevo secure a third-place finish in the league. Prior to that, he had developed his football foundation in youth teams across France and Germany, including a stint at FC Metz and Racing FC Union in his native Luxembourg.
His professional breakthrough came with Borussia Monchengladbach II in Germany, marking the start of his senior career. Over the years, Mirza has accumulated an impressive 253 appearances, with 35 goals and 23 assists across all competitions. His consistent performances and international experience are expected to add both depth and creativity to Bali United’s attacking options.
With Mustafic’s arrival, Bali United now have seven foreign players on their roster, including Boris Kopitovic, Brandon Wilson, Thijmen Goppel, Joao Ferrari, Mike Hauptmeijer, and Tim Receveur. This move aligns with the league’s new regulation requiring clubs to fill 11 foreign player slots, with up to eight allowed to play simultaneously in a match. Mirza is expected to play a key role in Bali United’s pursuit of domestic success this season.
