Information
The Romanian Liga I consists of 16 participating teams and is divided into two phases:
Phase 1: The league follows a home-and-away double round-robin format. The points system for each match awards 3 points for a win, 0 points for a loss, and 1 point for a draw.
Phase 2: After Phase 1, the teams ranked 1-6 compete in the Championship Playoff, while the teams ranked 7-16 participate in the Relegation Playoff. The points in the playoff are calculated as half of the points from Phase 1 plus the points earned in the playoff. The Championship Playoff consists of a double round-robin format, whereas the Relegation Playoff is a single round-robin format, determining the final league standings.
In case of a tie on points, the rankings are determined in the following order: a) Head-to-head record, b) Goal difference, c) Total goals scored, d) Playoff performance.
